Question: - Why is the rate of selection in the SSB on the lower side? Are the tests so difficult?
Answer: - SSBs are not looking for super human beings but average individuals who possess and display reasonable level of OLQs in line with their present age and have potential for improvement during their training period, if selected. The tests are designed to match this requirement. Rejections are caused mostly due to lack of understanding about the system of selection, incorrect grasp and comprehension of the specific requirements in the various tests, wrong notions and myths, glaring lack of exposure and very poor practical/applied knowledge of their own subject, inability to perform in a team, lack of general knowledge about one’s own country/ city or place of work, overconfidence, hesitation/ nervousness, inability to justify what one has claimed as one’s own achievements and finally, lack of self confidence and mental stamina to even take minimum risk.
